Scrappin' Moms

Building the Filipino scrapbooking community

I saw a similar thread on 2 peas and it would be fun to know how much our fellow scrappers have spent in scrap stuff.

I just started scrapbooking last year (2008) and i should say that my stash would be worth about P50,000, not including those that i have already used up in my LOs.

How about you? :-) Be honest! LOL

Will this incriminate us with our hubbies in any way?! LOL!
I'm afraid to answer your question Honey.
Mine would probably be in the 6 digit figure if I sum up everything.
Busted!
LOL!!!!

Like Liza, I'm afraid to answer. And even more afraid to count!

Sorry Honey...no comment.

This is a really interesting thread, but since I've been scrapping since 2003, if you do the Math based on how much your stuff is worth...pero hindi naman siguro...sana

Hehehe! You girls are too funny! :-) Ako din takot that my hubby would figure out how much everything costs. But i'm sure that as i continue with this hobby, i would be accumulating more and more stuff. Well, i just like to think of it as investing money in creating memories - and that is PRICELESS!

I cant equate that to costs esp now that I have shipped my stuff to OZ (and I was not able to bring all mind you!),... but this is what I tell my hubby -- if we go hungry and penniless --- if I sell my scrap stuff --- we will have food to serve on the table....

or if I have saved every single penny I probably can buy small car now.... bad bad --- but I am happy!

Gosh!!! Hirap sagutin naman nitong tanong na ito. The answer is priceless.. Kasi iba naman yung joy na binibigay nya pag people appreciate the work that I do.

Hahaha.. i like this thread.. and what's really funny is i kinda relate to the "takot malaman ni hubby" response. im in this addicting craft only this year and yet, im also afraid to sum up all of the stuff i've bought (and some stuff not yet used) through the internet. pano na lng kya if i do find the chance to visit stores there in manila..naku patay! additional expenses for me :) si Ria since 2003 pa, hmm.. di lang siguro 1 car worth ng scrap stuff nya through the years..i'd guess probably a condo along with that small car of Joanne. but then, i have to agree also, priceless talaga ang fulfillment and de-stress factor brought about by this hobby :)

Welcome to the group Lynette! Ay grabe, hindi naman condo -- medyo nagagamit ko naman sila -- although yung mga tools, yun ang mahal pero investment naman -- hehe.

Side kwento ni Buddy. He was talking to guys from the office recently:
Friend: "Scrapbooking is a really big business. Women in the US are so addicted and buying everything. Can you believe it?"
Buddy: Yup.
Friend: You mean your wife too?
Buddy: Yup
Friend: So can they really enter a store and buy $1000 worth of stuff without blinking?
Buddy: Yup
Friend: (gasp) woah!

Bwahaha!

So true, Ria! :-) If money was not an issue, puno na siguro ang room namin with scrap stuff, hehe. Si hubby is nagtataka nga why lately, i haven't been bugging him about spending so much for his hobby (shooting, as in guns, which is also very expensive). I used to nag him soooo much about it. But since i started scrapping, and i figured out that this is also an expensive hobby, i kept my mouth shut :-) Maybe he thinks na napagog na ako sa kaka.nag sa kanya. I hope he continues to think along that line and not figure out na i'm starting to spend almost as much as him, hahaha!

Haha! Your replies are so funny! Honestly, whenever I think about how much my stuff now costs, I feel a bit guilty. I started scrapbooking in late 2006 and back then, the materials I bought were from NBS only. When I discovered all the imported goodness {?}, I never used those NBS stuff again. So marami rin nasayang. But all in all, my estimate is almost approaching the 6-digit mark. Gasp! I agree with Ria, the tools are the most expensive ones. Pero investment nga naman so okay lang. But still! =p

Yaikks!!! Yaikks!!! In our LSS here they offer those discount cards with every purchase you get a stamp, and they have 3 stages, frequent shopper, anonymous and the for life member, on the day that I've been a Scrapaholic for Life (that was late last year) I've spent P60K na cguro and since then I've been frequenting the shop almost every week spending P600-4K! D pa kasama un mga on-line shopping ko at mga trips to craft shops and even to NBS when I go home. And yes the tools are good investments, kaya ok na din I just make sure namamaximize ko un mga tools para d sayang hehehe. Pero naglie-low na ako ng konti sa shopping but I can't resist the CHA Summer goodies *drool*
